Flowers 2024 Estate Wines:

A Meaningful Milestone on the Sonoma Coast

WE ARE EXCITED TO SHARE FLOWERS’ LATEST RELEASE: THE 2024 CAMP MEETING RIDGE CHARDONNAY AND THE 2024 SEA VIEW RIDGE PINOT NOIR – CRITICALLY ACCLAIMED EXPRESSIONS FROM FLOWERS’ ICONIC FAR SONOMA COAST ESTATES.

This year marks 35 years since Camp Meeting Ridge was first planted—a defining chapter for Flowers and for the far Sonoma Coast. In 1991, against prevailing advice, Walt and Joan Flowers planted vines on a steep ridgeline just two miles from the Pacific Ocean, drawn by a belief that the convergence of elevation, ocean influence, and surrounding wilderness could yield wines of uncommon purity and character. That conviction continues to shape Flowers today.

Flowers’ organically farmed estate vineyards rise from 1,200 to 1,875 feet above sea level, set above the fog line and surrounded by dense evergreen forests. Here, cold ocean winds, intense high-elevation sunlight, and shallow rocky soils shape Chardonnay and Pinot Noir with structure, energy, and age-worthiness – with a site-driven signature that transcends category style.

Transparency to Place

The 2024 Estate Wines arrive at a moment of reflection and forward momentum. They represent the culmination of a multi-year effort, led by longtime winemaker Chantal Forthun, to deepen Flowers’ understanding of these complex coastal sites—bringing farming, site, and winemaking into closer alignment. The result is a more distilled expression of Camp Meeting Ridge and Sea View Ridge: wines of remarkable clarity of line, texture, and transparency to place. “Our intent has always been to let the vineyards lead,” says Forthun. “With the 2024 wines, we see a clearer synthesis—one that allows the signature of each site to come through effortlessly.”

The Press

The 2024 Estate Wines are already earning strong critical recognition, including 95 points from Wine Spectator. Recent reviews highlight Flowers’ sustained commitment to site-specific expression on the Sonoma Coast. As Decanter recently observed, “The bedrock of Flowers has always been the Sonoma Coast…. this obsessive dive into their soils, the renewed energy behind finding what lies beneath this rugged landscape, is driving ever greater elegance in these wines.”

Flowers Camp Meeting Ridge Chardonnay 2024

95 Points, Editor’s Choice

“What really stands out about this wine is the vineyard—it’s such a special place. This is winemaking in the wilderness at the edge of a continent, and the purity of fruit really shows through. You should absolutely try any wine from Flowers and check out the Sonoma Coast in the 2024 vintage!”
